High-Frequency and Low-Frequency EMF Meters

EMF measurements are generally divided into two main areas: high-frequency (HF) and low-frequency (LF) electromagnetic fields. These require different types of measuring equipment.

High-frequency EMF sources include wireless technologies such as mobile phone networks, Wi-Fi, DECT cordless phones and Bluetooth. For these measurements, an HF EMF meter such as the Gigahertz Solutions HF35C, HF38B or HF59B can be used.

Low-frequency fields are associated with sources such as mains electricity, electrical wiring and electrical equipment. The Gigahertz Solutions ME3030B is designed for measuring low-frequency electric and magnetic fields.

If you want to investigate both high-frequency and low-frequency sources in your home, workplace or other environment, you will generally need an HF EMF meter and an LF EMF meter, as these meters cover different frequency ranges and measurement applications.

It can be used for investigating RF sources including mobile communications, Wi-Fi, DECT, Bluetooth and other wireless technologies within its specified frequency range. Peak Hold, peak and average readings, audio analysis and its directional LogPer antenna provide additional ways to investigate high-frequency electromagnetic fields.

HF59B - Professional HF Measurement and Expansion

The Gigahertz Solutions HF59B is a professional high-frequency EMF meter for detailed measurement of radio-frequency electromagnetic fields. It provides high sensitivity, frequency-compensated measurement, peak, average and Peak Hold readings, audio analysis and additional functions for investigating RF sources.

The HF59B can also be expanded with the UBB27_G3 Ultra Broadband Antenna for applications requiring a wider frequency range. The actual usable frequency range depends on the frequency response of the connected analyser and antenna combination.

ME3030B - Low-Frequency Electric and Magnetic Fields

The Gigahertz Solutions ME3030B is designed for measuring low-frequency (LF) electric and magnetic fields.

It can be used to investigate fields associated with mains electricity, electrical wiring and electrical equipment. Because low-frequency measurements are different from high-frequency RF measurements, an LF meter such as the ME3030B is used when the aim is to investigate these lower-frequency sources.

Extending HF59B Measurements with the UBB27_G3

The Gigahertz Solutions UBB27_G3 Ultra Broadband Antenna can be used with the HF59B to extend its measurement capabilities for a wider range of high-frequency signals.

The UBB27_G3 is an accessory for the analyser rather than a standalone EMF meter. Its actual usable measurement range depends on the frequency response of the analyser it is connected to, so the antenna alone does not determine the complete measurement range.
